Job Description

We are supporting a leading global insurance and risk services organisation in the appointment of a strategic and delivery-focused Head of Global Claims IT. Based in London, this high-impact role will oversee the modernisation and optimisation of global claims technology capabilities, driving the transformation of a multi-region delivery function spanning North America, Europe, and India.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of enterprise claims technology, embedding Agile ways of working, improving delivery velocity, and enhancing user experience across the value chain.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Define and Evolve the Claims Technology Roadmap. Evaluate business requirements, assess platform suitability, and identify opportunities for improvement, enhancement, or replacement with emerging technologies.
  • Lead the end-to-end implementation of claims platforms using Agile, test-driven, and behaviour-driven development methodologies.
  • Lead the reorganisation of a globally distributed technology team of 200+ internal and external professionals, shifting focus toward efficient, high-quality engineering output.
  • Prioritise user experience and adoption as critical success metrics for all technology initiatives.
  • Embed an Objective and Key Results (OKR) approach across the function, ensuring transparency, accountability, and performance-driven execution.
  • Interface with cross-functional stakeholders across operations, enterprise technology, and transformation to co-create reusable microservices and a cohesive API ecosystem.
  • Represent the technology function with confidence and clarity, promoting modern engineering practices and championing talent development.
Skills / Experience Profile
  • Experience leading the transformation and optimisation of global claims technology platforms.
  • Significant Agile delivery experience, with the ability to manage complex workstreams across multiple geographies and stakeholder groups.
  • Proven ability to deliver multiple enterprise-scale technology initiatives concurrently.
  • Experience working with low/no-code platforms.
  • A strong leadership track record in managing large-scale IT change and migration programmes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing, distributed teams and build future-fit IT capabilities.
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical content into business-aligned strategy.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Insurance or financial services industry background (preferred but not essential).
  • Proven leadership in large-scale, Agile-based claims or enterprise platform delivery.
  • A strong record of innovation and value creation through technology transformation.
  • A commitment to building inclusive, high-performance teams and nurturing emerging talent.
  • The confidence and clarity to operate in a high-profile leadership role with significant cross-functional exposure.
Additional Information
  • Salary Comp Information: Commensurate with Global IT Leadership
  • Base Location: London with occasional global travel
  • Working Pattern: Flexible (circa 50/50 onsite / offsite)
