Head of Finance

Are you a proven finance leader with a hands on approach and a passion for delivering high quality financial management in a values led, commercially minded organisation? This is a unique opportunity to play a key part in shaping the finance function during a planned succession period. Based in Poole, you'll step into a pivotal leadership role, driving financial excellence across a growing, multi site business with a strong record of stability and employee engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a finance team, covering payroll, sales ledger, purchase ledger, and credit control
• Ensure the production of accurate management accounts for multiple sites and detailed reporting as required by the business
• Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts and successful completion of audits
• Maintain compliance with all statutory and reporting requirements, including HMRC submissions
• Drive continuous improvement and efficiency across the finance function and associated systems
• Support a structured handover with the current Head of Finance, ensuring knowledge transfer and stability
• Provide clear financial insight to the Finance Director, senior leadership, and non finance stakeholders
• Play a key role in shaping the ongoing financial strategy within a growing, commercially focused, values driven organisation

Qualifications

• Professionally qualified accountant with significant post qualification experience and a background in leading operational finance teams
• Strong people management skills and ability to coach, develop, and motivate both qualified and non qualified staff
• Previous experience within a multi site organisation would be ideal
