The Role:

The Head of Finance role is a fantastic career opportunity. Working closely with senior finance leaders, you will be mentored and developed over the coming years. For those wishing to progress and reach the next level, the Head of Financerole will act as a launch pad for the next stage of your career and development in a rapidly growing business.

Managing a small but capable team, spanning management reporting, financial accounting, and transactional finance, you will have the opportunity to shape the finance function. Working in support of the senior leadership, the Head of Financewill help drive enhanced commercial decision making through the provision of more timely and accurate management reporting and MI, as well as overseeing key strategic finance transformation initiatives.

The role is not limited to a list of bullet points. In such a high growth business, the breadth of the role is determined as much by the demands of the market and business, as it is by the drive and ambition of the person.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial accounting and reporting

• Producing monthly management accounts
• Developing the reporting processes to improve the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting
• Leading the period end close accounting
• Overseeing balance sheet and ledger reconciliations
• Working alongside the commercial team to produce the monthly reporting pack
• Liaising with factory accountants in China and Bangladesh

Systems and controls

• Maintaining and improving Finance systems and processes
• Developing group wide controls

Accounts payable

• Confirming costs are accurate and approved in line with company policy
• Ensuring suppliers are paid on time
• Maintaining appropriate expenses and card systems

Technical

• Preparing and planning for the annual audit
• Assisting with statutory accounts
• Ensuring compliance with the latest technical developments
• Providing practical solutions to complex accounting challenges

Other

• Assisting with tax compliance work
• Ongoing project work
• Ad hoc tasks when required supporting the wider business

Skills and Requirements:

• Qualified accountant with previous practice background
• Capable of implementing strong financial controls and processes
• Mentor and leader capable of developing people
• Strong technical accounting skills
• Excellent communication skills at all levels
• Must take a hands on role
• Proactive and positive attitude
