Job Description
Job Overview 
Head of Environment, Safety & Health (EHS) to join our team in Belfast. This position defines strategic EHS direction, drives a culture of safety and wellbeing, and ensures compliance with legal and corporate requirements.
Responsibilities- Define the EHS direction for Airbus Belfast and lead, motivate, and develop a multi disciplinary team to promote a positive site wide safety culture.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS improvement plans and management systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001) to ensure total compliance with legal and corporate requirements.
- Oversee robust risk management and accident investigations, using leading and lagging indicators, audits, and inspections to drive continuous improvement.
- Act as the primary Airbus representative with external regulatory bodies (HSE NI and NI Environment Agency) and maintain effective consultation with internal stakeholders, including business managers and Trades Union Representatives.
- Ensure emergency response arrangements are strictly maintained, oversee Occupational Health and Safety services, and manage the regional EHS budget.
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience in Health & Safety.
- Proven track record of maintaining and developing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Management Systems.
- NEBOSH Diploma (Degree level) and comprehensive, up to date understanding of EHS legislation and compliance requirements.
- Direct, hands on experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment (preferably Aerospace).
- Highly proficient in using EHS management software and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, allowing effective engagement with diverse audiences.
- Experience working with Occupational Health as a 3rd party/Outsourced.
- Knowledge of insurance claims and enterprise risk management.
- Strong project management skills, including experience in EHS training development and delivery.
