Job Description

The Dean Trust is seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Head of Department, Design & Technology to join our dedicated team at Abraham Moss Community School, Crescent Road, Crumpsall, Manchester, M8 5UF.

The core purpose of the role will be to Teach Design & Technology throughout the school, working as the leading member of the Design & Technology team, setting an example of skilful teaching, excellent subject knowledge, high expectations and high achievement for all pupils.

Key responsibilities:

Taking overall responsibility for the leadership, organisation, management and development of the area including:

  • Staff development and performance management
  • Deployment of resources and accommodation
  • Data and target setting
  • Departmental handbook, guidance and policies
  • Primary liaison and post 16 progression

Degree or equivalent qualification essential

Qualified Teacher Status essential

Degree in a relevant subject

Skills Abilities, Skills and Knowledge

Full working knowledge of the National Curriculum requirements for their associated subject essential

Experience

Enthusiastic and excellent classroom practitioner, to be able to teach their associated subject up to GCSE standard essential
