Head of Bioanalysis

Overview

Mahidol Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit (MORU) is a world leading laboratory in pharmacology based in Bangkok. The Head of Bioanalysis will lead the ISO15189 accredited laboratory, manage a multidisciplinary team of 6-8 staff, and drive scientific development of novel bioanalytical methods for clinical trials.

Responsibilities
  • Provide scientific leadership and strategic direction for the bioanalysis team.
  • Develop and implement long term goals for assay development, validation, and clinical application.
  • Line manage a team of scientists, analysts, and technicians.
  • Operational oversight of all equipment (4 QQQ LC MS systems, 2 liquid handlers, 2 dried blood spot punching systems).
  • Ensure compliance with ISO15189 and other regulatory standards.
  • Write and review SOPs, risk assessments, validation reports, and other quality documents.
  • Act as point of contact for clients regarding routine analysis of clinical trial samples.
  • Contribute to peer reviewed publications.
  • Foster continuous learning, teamwork, and scientific excellence.
Qualifications
  • PhD in bioanalytical chemistry or related field, or Master's degree with multi year relevant experience.
  • Experience in mass spectrometry, bioanalytical drug measurements, and method development.
  • Proven laboratory management and line management experience.
  • Experience with regulated environments (ISO, GLP, GMP).
  • Knowledge of tropical medicine and infectious diseases is an asset.
  • Strong publication record.
  • Excellent communication in English (written and spoken).
Terms & Conditions

The position is based in Bangkok at the Mahidol Oxford Research Unit. Salary is based on MORU scales and will depend on experience. Benefits include: 13th month salary, health and life insurance, social security, provident fund, and 20 days of annual leave.
