Job Description

We are looking for a Head of Accounting - ART, based in Wallisellen, Switzerland.

Your Team

The Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) line of business of Allianz Commercial creates innovative tailored structured insurance, captive reinsurance, and other non-traditional risk management solutions for a wide range of corporate and financial clients globally. We specialize in helping our customers mitigate their most complex risks with bespoke multi-year and multi-line agreements covering a broad range of risks, leveraging our expertise in alternative risk transfer and the global capabilities of the Allianz Group.

The Impact You Will Have

Reporting to the Regional CFO , you will serve as the primary interface to the Global Accounting Center (GAC) and local regulators, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements for your area of responsibility. You will be responsible for performing the closing of financials for AGCS Global, catering to regulatory, tax, and management reporting needs. Additionally, you will ensure local compliance with the Group Accounting Policy and oversee the implementation of reporting standards under Solvency II (SII) and IFRS 4. Your role will also involve driving forward shared services and outsourcing initiatives, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

  • Strategy Development & Team Alignment : Develop strategy aligned with functional/regional goals; guide employees on strategic alignment and set clear, challenging targets.

  • Organizational Setup & Budget Management : Drive organizational setup, personnel selection, and budget management within the plan.

  • Employee Coaching & Empowerment : Coach and develop employees in a changing environment; empower independent task execution and foster desired behaviors.

  • Financial Closing & Reporting : Perform financial closing for tax, regulatory, and internal reporting; ensure reconciliation of intercompany transactions.

  • Governance & Quality Assurance : Align with CFO colleagues, implement accounting policies, ensure compliance with reporting requirements, and ensure data quality during closing.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration : Foster collaboration across the business to enhance overall understanding.

  • Relationship Management : Interface with external auditors, regulators, and other third parties for financial reporting and compliance.

What You'll Bring to the Role

  • Legal and Regulatory Expertise: In-depth knowledge of local GAAP, IAS/IFRS, regulatory, tax, and Allianz Accounting policies for reporting and compliance.

  • Data Quality and Reporting: Ensure compliance with internal and external closing and reporting requirements, including capital management.

  • Insurance Accounting and Business Acumen: Understanding of insurance financial statements, non-life insurance processes, reserving techniques, and significant experience in insurance accounting.

  • Leadership and Management Experience: At least 7-10 years of managerial experience in developing and leading teams within a complex global/matrix environment.

  • Change Management: Proven experience in leading change across various business scenarios such as restructuring and integration.

  • Communication and Presentation Skills: Ability to effectively convey information tailored to different audiences and management levels.

  • Decision Making and Complexity Navigation: Skilled in evaluating complex issues, making informed decisions, involving stakeholders, and anticipating potential challenges.

  • AI Technology: The ability to ensure ethical AI practices and stay updated with emerging AI technologies will be key to maintaining a competitive advantage.
