Head Girls Basketball Coach

Description

Newcastle ISD is seeking a motivated and student-centered professional to serve as the Head Girls Basketball Coach. This position includes the opportunity to assist with or lead additional programs such as cross country and/or tennis, depending on candidate experience and district needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a competitive Girls Basketball program (7-12)
• Promote student-athlete growth in character, academics, and athletics
• Organize and supervise practices, games, and offseason programs
• Coordinate with athletic director and administration on program needs
• Maintain compliance with all UIL rules and district policies
• Build positive relationships with athletes, parents, staff, and community
• Possible Head Coach (Cross Country and/or Tennis) as assigned

Teaching Field

• Open (Multiple certifications will be considered)
• Competitive salary based on experience and district scale
• Coaching stipends included
• $225 monthly contribution toward health insurance

Qualifications

• Valid Texas teaching certification (or ability to obtain)
• CDL (or willingness to obtain)Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals and program development
• Previous coaching experience preferred (head or assistant)
• Ability to contribute to multiple athletic programs is a plus
