Scotia Amateur Swimming Club is community-based competitive swimming club located in the North of Glasgow. The programme offered by Scotia ASC covers a complete range of ability levels, from a fun and inclusive training structure for the novice and age-group swimmer to a rigorous and challenging training programme for the senior swimmer who desires to compete at national events. Scotia ASC is currently run and managed entirely by volunteers including an well engaged supportive committee, dedicated coaching team and poolside helpers. Scotia is currently at capacity across our squads and this is a brilliant time to join to help shape the future of the club and identifying the right path for every swimmer.
PurposeWe are recruiting a Head Coach whose primary objective is to enhance athlete performance within a safe, supportive and positive environment. Working collaboratively with other club staff, the Head Coach will deliver a well-organised, appropriate and effective training programme. A key focus of the role is to inspire and develop swimmers, enabling them to realise their full potential. The successful candidate will also ensure that Scotia swimmers are prepared and supported to compete successfully at all levels within Scottish Swimming.
Requirements- PVG Scheme Membership.
- Completion of a self-declaration form.
- Current membership with Scottish Swimming.
- Willingness to attend relevant training.
- Commitment to sign and adhere to the Coach's Code of Conduct.
- Scottish Swimming UKCC Level 2 / SSCQ qualification (minimum) or equivalent.
- Ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Child Wellbeing & Protection in Sport certification (renewable every 3 years).
This is a parttime role between 14-21 hours per week and will include attending meets at weekends.
