Job Description
Shift: 7:30 - 19:00, 4 days per week with alternate weekends.
You will be responsible for managing and leading the culinary team at Aldridge Care Home to provide nutritionally balanced, comprehensive, and high-quality culinary services that contribute to the overall well being of residents and are delivered within budget.
Job Responsibilities- Preparing modified diets that look appealing, are well balanced and in accordance with IDDSI guidance.
- Placing food orders; ensuring procurement of approved suppliers and maintaining appropriate stock levels and quality while staying within agreed budget limits.
- Supervising and directing the work of kitchen staff and the host team, providing instruction and demonstrating simple food preparation activities to unqualified staff.
- Practicing safe systems of work across the range of tasks, including moving and handling loads by assessing risk and safeguarding the personal safety of residents, visitors, and staff.
- Two years of experience managing a culinary team in the care or hospitality sectors.
- Relevant catering qualification (City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ).
- Demonstrated passion and commitment to delivering high quality culinary standards to residents.
- Proven ability to control a budget.
- DBS Disclosure check - the cost will be met by Avery Healthcare.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
