Handyperson

We're looking for a reliable, skilled, and warm hearted Handyperson to join our dedicated team in a specialist dementia care home. This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys variety, and understands the importance of creating a safe, comfortable environment for our residents.

As our Handyperson, you'll be the go to person for keeping our home running smoothly. Your work will directly support the wellbeing of residents living with dementia, ensuring their surroundings are safe, welcoming, and well maintained.

You'll be responsible for:

• Carrying out day to day repairs, maintenance, and basic DIY tasks
• Conducting regular safety checks (e.g., fire alarms, lighting, equipment)
• Supporting with minor decorating, painting, and general upkeep
• Liaising with external contractors when specialist work is required
• Ensuring outdoor areas are tidy, safe, and pleasant
• Responding promptly to maintenance requests from staff and residents
• Maintaining accurate records of work completed and safety checks

What We're Looking For:

• Practical skills across basic plumbing, joinery, painting, and general repairs
• A calm, patient, and respectful approach, especially important in a dementia care setting
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well with residents, families, and colleagues
• Someone organised, proactive, and able to prioritise tasks
