Handyman/Maintenance Technician

As a Handyman/ Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for performing a wide range of repairs, maintenance and improvements tasks in a family run food manufacturing factory. This role requires practical skills, problem solving ability and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to keep facilities safe, functional, and well maintained.

Your main accountabilities will be to:

• Perform general repairs and maintenance carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, flooring etc.
• Inspect buildings and equipment to identify issues needing repair
• Install fixtures, appliances, doors, windows and cabinetry.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance tasks.
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in good condition.
• Follow Safety procedures and training updates SOP.
• Keep records of work completed and materials used.
• Coordinate with Site Supervisor and other external contractors.
• Indoor & Outdoor work settings.

Essential skills:

• Proven experience in general maintenance or handyman work.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
• Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
• Good Physical condition ability to lift heavy objects.
• Time management and organizational skills.
• Good communicator good team player.
• Valid driving license.

Desirable:

• Trade Certification either WRAS/BTEC/Cabinet/Carpenter/Basic Safe Electrical cert.
• Previous experience in property maintenance or facilities management.
• Basic Health & Safety certification Safe Workings.
