Hands-On Mechanical Service Technician - Van + Overtime

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Service Technician to join our client, a specialist engineering organisation designing and building bespoke automated machinery for leading manufacturing sectors. This role is ideal for a mechanically minded professional who enjoys hands on assembly, problem solving, and varied technical work.

Our client is a well established engineering and automation business supplying custom built production machinery to customers across packaging, consumer goods, and pharmaceutical manufacturing. Known for quality workmanship and reliable delivery, they operate within a highly skilled, close knit engineering team and continue to grow due to strong customer demand.

The Mechanical Service Technician will play a key role in assembling, installing, and servicing automated machinery, working primarily on site in Tipperary with occasional customer visits.

Key responsibilities include:

• Mechanical assembly - Building machines, motors, electrical systems, and pneumatics to high standards.

• Fault finding - Diagnosing mechanical issues and carrying out repairs when required.

• Machine installation - Supporting the installation and commissioning of equipment at customer sites.

• Service & maintenance - Providing ongoing support to ensure machinery runs efficiently.

• Technical problem solving - Applying practical mechanical skills to resolve issues quickly.

• Team collaboration - Working closely with a skilled assembly team and engineering lead.

Working hours: Monday-Thursday 8:30-17:00 Friday 8:30-16:00

Our client is seeking candidates who:

• Are mechanically minded and confident working with tools and machinery.

• Have experience in mechanical fitting, MAMF, mechanical technician roles, or similar.

• Enjoy hands on assembly and problem solving.

• Are willing to travel occasionally for repairs and installations.

• Show initiative, pride in their work, and a positive, proactive attitude.

• Come from mechanical background

• Work well within a small, collaborative engineering team.

• Salary: €40,000-€50,000 typical

• Vehicle: Company van + fuel card

• Pension: Auto enrolment

• Overtime: 1.5x / 2x on Sundays

• Holidays: 20 days + bank holidays

• Laptop & phone provided

• No on call requirement
