An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to join our specialist Hand Therapy Team at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust. This is a permanent post based within the outpatient therapy department, working closely with Clinical Specialists and gaining valuable experience in the rehabilitation of upper limb orthopaedic conditions.

Main duties of the jobWork as part of a specialist team of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists delivering a dedicated hand therapy service.
Provide high quality, specialist assessments and treatments, including splinting.
Manage a caseload of patients requiring assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for hand and wrist conditions.
Represent the therapy team at multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings with Trauma and Orthopaedic Hand Consultants.
Support the development of the wider therapy workforce, including supervision of staff and education of students.
Contribute to service development and continuous improvement initiatives.
We are looking for a therapist with:- A broad range of postgraduate experience in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic specialities, with a strong focus on hand and wrist conditions
- Evidence of personal professional development in this specialist area
- Strong clinical reasoning skills and the ability to deliver effective, patient centred interventions
- A commitment to contributing to team development through supervision, teaching, and peer support

- Post graduate experience in the use of thermoplastics
- Evidence of clinical expertise and knowledge to Post graduate Diploma level developed through CPD and experience
- Knowledge and experience of using standardised assessments and development of relevant outcome measures
- Demonstrates knowledge of equipment available and able to assess and fit where applicable
- Knowledge and understanding of national legislation, guidance and regulatory framework including NSF, NICE, Information Governance, Equality and Diversity, Data Protection, Safe Guarding, Professional and Clinical Guidelines.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement through benchmarking and sharing and utilising best practice
- Knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety in the work environment and implications for service area
- Knowledge of Clinical Governance and implications for patient care
- Knowledge and evidence of participation in clinical audit and evidence gathering methods
- Awareness and understanding of relevant health and Social Care legislation
- Membership of Regional /National Specialist groups/forums
- Post graduate experience in the treatment and management of acute and chronic hand injuries
- Clinical experience of working within hand therapy, orthopaedic outpatients and orthopaedic inpatients.

- Up to date documented evidence of CPD relevant to clinical area

- Degree in Occupational Therapy / Physiotherapy
- Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently between TRFT sites and for patient visits in the Rotherham area and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010
- Post graduate qualification in the use of thermoplastics
- Membership of Professional body British Association of Occupational Therapists/Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
- Evidence of post grad qualification relevant to hand therapy
- Completed recognised IT course e.g. ECDL/Elite/MOST
