Hair, Makeup & Special Effects Tutor

Part-Time Cardiff Immediate Start

Reed Further Education are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Hair, Makeup & Special Effects Tutor to join a well-established Creative Industries department on a part-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for industry professionals with experience in Hair, Makeup and/or Special Effects for TV, Film or Creative Industries who are looking to share their expertise and inspire the next generation of learners.

The Role

Deliver engaging teaching across Hair, Makeup and Special Effects programmes

Support learners to achieve positive outcomes and develop industry-standard skills

Prepare learning materials, assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback

Contribute to a positive, inclusive and aspirational learning environment

Participate in learner recruitment and retention activities, including open events where required

Working Pattern

12 teaching hours per week

Wednesdays and Fridays

9:00am to 12:00pm

1:00pm to 4:00pm

6.5 hours administration time per week, which can be completed onsite and/or remotely

Essential Requirements

• Available to start from 21st September (including attendance at an induction day on 17th September)
• Relevant industry experience within Hair, Makeup and/or Special Effects
• Experience from a creative, TV, film or media-related background (not Beauty Therapy)
• Ability to deliver engaging and effective learning experiences
• EWC Registered
• Enhanced DBS on the update service

Desirable Requirements

• Teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent)
• Previous teaching or training experience
• Experience working with higher education or degree-level learners
