Health & Safety Manager
Cumbria
Monday to Friday with flexi time. Permanent, Full Time role
£45,000 to £50,000 + Pension + Health cash back plan, Holidays

An excellent opportunity has arisen at an excellent British manufacturing company seeking to bring an experienced Health & Safety Manager on to the business. Supplying product worldwide, this is an excellent opportunity to work for a company with a great history that offers long term security and technical challenge.

Role Description

  • Working with Senior Managers to ensure that employees remain in a safe working environment and providing advice where appropriate.
  • Determine the strategic direction and work priorities (in conjunction with the management team) for the continuous improvement of the H&S processes and policies across all locations where employees are based, in accordance with the relevant legislation.
  • Advise, guide, support, promote awareness and coach all personnel with the implementation of the company's policies and procedures. Complete other projects at the request of the Management
  • Work with Senior Managers in driving a change in the business
  • Getting into the factory and implementing tools and techniques to bring a stronger view on site safety
  • Assuring best practice always
  • Working on short- and long-term projects in the business

Skills and Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Diploma preferred (or equivalent)
  • IOSH Certification
  • ISO Accredited
  • Experience within manufacturing.
  • A positive 'can do' attitude and drive to succeed
  • Experience in the management of health, safety and environmental systems.
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Continuous Improvement experience (5S, Kaizen, 8D etc.)
