H&S Coordinator

A well-established manufacturing and distribution business based in County Durham is seeking a proactive Health & Safety Coordinator to support the ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement of its health, safety, and compliance frameworks.

This role is focused on the coordination, upkeep, and review of existing systems rather than creating new frameworks from scratch. The successful candidate will work closely with management to ensure health & safety standards, compliance requirements, and accreditations are consistently maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintaining and updating existing risk assessments, method statements, and H&S documentation
• Coordinating compliance with current health & safety legislation and internal procedures
• Supporting ongoing accreditations and certifications, including audits, renewals, and documentation
• Assisting with incident reporting, investigations, and follow-up actions
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across health, safety, and compliance
• Ensuring policies, procedures, and records are reviewed and kept up to date

Candidate Requirements:

• Previous experience in a Health & Safety or compliance-focused role
• Working knowledge of UK health & safety legislation
• Strong organisational and administrative skills
• Ability to maintain and update documentation accurately
• NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) preferred but not essential
• Detail-oriented, practical, and able to work independently
