Gyms Duty Manager

Overview

Location: JD Gyms - 1707 Darlington, Land On The North Side, Darlington, United Kingdom. This role is to support the General Manager in driving and developing the business, maintaining high standards and delivering an outstanding fitness offering.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the operational running of the gym at all times, including opening and closing the site as required by business hours.
• Expect to work early mornings, late weekdays, and weekends.
• Ensure adherence to all policies and procedures in the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook.
• Maintain and uphold the JD Gyms Brand Standard.
• Conduct daily, weekly and monthly safety checks; report and chase all defects to keep the building and equipment safe to use.
• Work towards and aim to achieve all sales and membership targets.
• Drive and maximise secondary spend revenue.
• Ensure the entire gym facility is kept to the highest standard of cleanliness, including outside of contracted cleaning hours.
• Ensure in-house cleaners are delivering cleaning to the highest standard.
• Maintain uniform standards for all team members and contracted staff.
• Foster a positive environment where the team and contracted personnel enjoy working.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties, projects or meetings as required.
• Act as an ambassador of JD Gyms at all times.

Skills and Experience

• Experience in a management position within a leisure-related industry is preferred.
• Passionate about customer service and able to lead by example.
• Qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor.
• Experience in driving sales and coordinating local marketing activities, as well as managing a successful team.
• Ideally experience as an Assistant Manager or Fitness Manager, overseeing all business areas within a leisure facility.
