About Finance at THG

THG's Finance department is a rapidly growing and evolving team, covering all areas of central functions such as Accounts Receivable and Payable, Treasury, Tax and Group Finance, to specific Commercial teams for each of THG's divisions.

About the Role

Step into a pivotal role at the heart of THG's global finance organisation, where tax sits at the centre of a fast-moving, multi-jurisdictional business. We're looking for a driven and ambitious Group Tax Manager to join our team and shape the next chapter of our tax capability. This is far more than a technical compliance role - it's an opportunity to influence decision-making across a diverse, international portfolio and support leaders right across the Group.

You'll take ownership of Indirect and Direct Tax, while gaining hands on exposure to transfer pricing, employment taxes, and customs duty. With regular interaction with senior stakeholders and external advisors, this role offers unparalleled visibility and the chance to navigate complex cross border tax matters as we continue to scale globally.

You'll be empowered to shape how tax supports the business, with clear pathways to progress into broader advisory, commercial finance, or global tax leadership roles.

As Group Tax Manager, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our tax governance and ensuring we remain compliant, agile, and strategically aligned as we grow.

As a Group Tax Manager you will:
  • Conduct initial reviews of VAT compliance filings in all operating territories;
  • Assist with Corporate Tax initial reviews;
  • Assist with employment taxes, transfer pricing, customs duty, inward processing, bill of discharge;
  • Provide ongoing support for business operations and strategic projects globally;
  • Advise the business on key changes in Indirect Tax legislation;
  • Carry out technical analysis in respect of key areas, e.g. the impact of the UK / EU e-commerce provisions;
  • Review and update the VAT liability of the Group's wide ranging product file;
  • Support the team on interactions with tax authorities globally;
  • Drive improvements in compliance and reporting processes and controls, including through technology solutions; and
  • Play an active role in the tax leadership group to raise the profile of tax within the business and deliver training across the organisation.
What skills and experience do I need for this role?
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK and international tax, covering both compliance and advisory for Indirect and Direct tax.
  • Self motivated and ambitious with the ability to lead, inspire and develop others in a fast paced setting
  • Demonstrates strong strategic thinking and a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Exposure to e commerce or retail environments preferred, though not required
  • Access bespoke development programmes that have been designed and developed by our in house L&D team.
