Join a group of passionate advocates on our mission to improve the lives of youth! Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a Shift Supervisor at Woodford Home in Mishawaka Indiana

Woodford Home is located on 27 th Street off Mishawaka Ave. in South Bend, Indiana. It is situated close to public transportation, a public library and a public university. The Woodford Home serves male youth with a history of delinquent behaviors, mild mental health issues, abuse, neglect and trauma needs who are transitioning back to the community from a residential placement. Woodford Home is licensed by Indiana Department of Child Services as a Child Caring Institution (CCI) serving up to 12 male youth between the ages of 14-21. The Woodford Home provides a safe therapeutic home for young men returning to the community from a residential placement. It is operated by Rite of Passage, Inc.

Pay: $47k - $53k (depending on education and experience)

What you will do: The Group Supervisor position exercises direct control and direction over subordinate staff as assigned in the safety, care and around -the-clock supervision of students in the program.

  • Ensures staff and students adhere to the facility and daily schedule, ensures that the facility (unit, cottage, house, room, dorm, etc.) is on time for all elements and the students participate in all of the scheduled activities.
  • Operates assigned shifts effectively and efficiently while maintaining the proper staff to student ratio for coverage according to licensing standards.
  • Makes critical and sound decisions during emergencies or potentially dangerous situations, conducts group intervention crisis sessions and informs supervisor of concerns as warranted.

To be considered you should: Supervisory experience is preferred. Need to have a minimum of 1-year direct care experience. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Be at least 21 years of age. Have a desire to work with at risk youth. Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical and TB test
