Job DescriptionThe Group Reporting Team is responsible for management and reporting of QIC Antares financials to QIC Antares Executive/QIC Group (Parent Company, in Qatar). QIC Antares Financials involve multilayers of consolidations: Antares at Lloyd's Group, Antares Reinsurance Group, Antares Insurance, Antares Global Management and, ultimately, QIC Antares Group. The focus of this Group Reporting Accountant role will be on providing high-quality management and financial reporting for the assigned group(s) of entities and related consolidation. This role will also contribute to the Group Financial Reporting team in the overall financial close and reporting process and production of all financial reporting deliverables and analysis for QIC Antares Group of entities. Further, this role is responsible for ongoing process and procedure reviews specifically focused on key consolidation processes, analytical review of group reporting outputs, monitoring of key controls and supporting business-wide process improvement projects and system change. The role has been created to strengthen Group Reporting capacity, ensuring the team is well positioned to absorb and deliver the requirements of the FTP while maintaining momentum across its broader reporting responsibilities.
Key Accountabilities- Support the Group Financial Reporting Team in all aspects of the QIC Antares Group financial reporting, including consolidation, IFRS/UK GAAP and/or local reporting compliance, and coordination with regional teams to deliver accurate and timely reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Take ownership of the consolidated reporting process for the assigned group(s) of entities.
- Take ownership of the preparation and delivery of Monthly and Quarterly Financial Packs for the assigned group(s) of entities, including:
- Monthly Management Returns (MMR)
- Closing Packs (CP)
- Regulatory Returns (e.g., Qatar Central Bank Returns)
- Other ad hoc reporting requirements
- Review and analyse standalone and consolidated financial reports, investigating discrepancies and making adjustments as necessary.
- Provide insightful commentary on financial results, and where appropriate, coordinate with other finance teams to incorporate their input into the reporting packs.
- Responsible for the production of QIC Antares Finance Pack.u
- Provide support and guidance to more junior members of the Group Reporting Team, as and when required.
- Manage intercompany alignment at the appropriate consolidation level, liaising with relevant finance teams to investigate and resolve intercompany discrepancies.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors (mainly with respect to Antares at Lloyd's), addressing all relevant matters and facilitating audit requirements.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes within area of responsibility, while maintaining a strong and effective control environment.
- Support the Group Financial Reporting Team in development projects, including system enhancements and process improvements, ensuring successful implementation and alignment with reporting objectives.
- The above is applicable to development projects led by the Group Reporting Team itself, Finance Transformation, or other departments.
- Contribute to the successful delivery of ad hoc tasks and reports as required, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Takes responsibility for own and colleagues' Health & Safety at all times.
- To ensure customers are treated fairly at all times, in accordance with the Conduct Risk Policy and other relevant policies and procedures.
- To be aware and adhere to all obligations under GDPR, ensuring that the business complies with these requirements.
- To avoid breaches and to report them to the Data Protection Officer when they occur regardless of whether electronic or on paper.
- University Degree
- Qualified Accountant with insurance industry experience
- Experience in Group Accounting and Consolidation within a general insurance environment.
- Good analytical and Management Information (MI) reporting skills.
- Skilled in identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Effective communicator with stakeholders and external auditors; strong cross-team coordination abilities.
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel proficiency (SUMIFS, pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Highly organized with excellent planning and time management.
- Good understanding of insurance and reinsurance accounting and reporting frameworks.
