Salary: Up to £42,000 DOE

Fully Site Based. Own Transport Essential

This isn't your typical Health & Safety role.

If you're happiest out on the shop floor, building relationships, influencing behaviour, and making a genuine difference to how people work every day, this could be exactly what you're looking for.

We're recruiting for a Group HSE Advisor to join a well established manufacturing business where safety is about people, not paperwork. This is a highly visible role where you'll be working alongside teams, understanding how things really happen, and helping to shape a positive, practical safety culture.

The Role

Working closely with another HSE Advisor and the wider Compliance team, you'll be a key presence across two busy sites. This is a hands on, people first role where your impact will be seen and felt daily.

Responsibilities
  • Building strong, trusted relationships with colleagues at all levels
  • Acting as a visible and approachable H&S partner on the shop floor
  • Supporting and coaching teams to improve behaviours - not policing from afar
  • Investigating incidents and near misses with a focus on learning, not blame
  • Delivering engaging toolbox talks and informal safety conversations
  • Carrying out audits and inspections that genuinely add value
  • Using data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement
  • Supporting wider health, wellbeing, environmental and quality initiatives
How You'll Work
  • Out on site, not behind a desk
  • Alongside people, not just processes
  • With a practical, common sense approach to safety
  • Confidently challenging where needed but always with respect
  • Using modern, digital SHEQ systems to support your work
About You

This role is as much about attitude as it is experience.

  • Genuinely cares about people going home safe
  • Builds trust quickly and communicates with ease
  • Is comfortable engaging with everyone from operators to senior leaders
  • Influences through credibility, not authority
  • Understands that meaningful culture change takes time
  • Keeps things simple, practical and effective
Requirements
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) as a minimum
  • Experience in a Health & Safety role within manufacturing, logistics, or similar
  • Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation
  • Confidence delivering face to face engagement and training
  • Experience using digital safety management systems
  • Ability to interpret data and turn insights into action
Why Apply?
  • Be part of a business that values safety culture, not just compliance
  • Enjoy real autonomy and the chance to make a visible impact
  • Work within a supportive, experienced compliance team
  • Play a key role in shaping how people work, every day
  • Access ongoing training and development opportunities
