Group Financial Planning and Analysis Manager

We have a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious, hands on finance professional to join the Group Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function. This role offers broad exposure across the Admiral Group, involvement in high profile financial analysis, and the chance to build strong relationships with senior leaders across the business.
The role sits within Group Finance, as part of the Group Capital, Financial Planning & Analysis team, and reports to the Director of Group FP&A, who in turn reports to the Group CFO.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the preparation of Group level monthly reporting, forecasting and reforecast outputs, including variance analysis, trend commentary and performance insights across key metrics.
- Produce and own core Group FP&A reporting deliverables, including trading updates / flash packs, performance meeting packs and executive MI.
- Develop clear, concise CEO / CFO level commentary explaining drivers of performance, movements against plan and emerging risks and opportunities.
- Support calculation and reporting of Group level metrics including RoE, EPS and DFSS, ensuring methodological clarity and strong documentation.
- Take a leading role in Group budget, forecast and reforecast cycles, including challenge of business submissions and production of Group wide outputs for senior governance.
- Prepare high quality materials for Executive and Board forums, clearly articulating assumptions, sensitivities and key judgements.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, robustness and consistency of Group FP&A reporting processes.
- Support risk, governance and control activities, including roll forward documentation and adherence to Group reporting standards.
- Provide analytical support to Group level initiatives, capital allocation activities and strategic projects as required.
- Support the wider Group FP&A team during peak periods (month end, reforecast, budget cycles), subject to capacity.
- Accurate, well controlled Group level monthly reporting and variance analysis, delivered in line with agreed close timetables.
- Clear, insightful executive commentary that explains key drivers, movements and risks, tailored for CFO, CEO and Board audiences.
- High quality reporting packs for governance forums, including trading updates / flash packs, performance packs and planning outputs.
- Robust supporting documentation and evidence for key FP&A controls, processes and calculations (audit ready where required).
- Consistent, reliable performance metrics and calculations (e.g. RoE, EPS, DFSS), with transparent methodologies and assumptions.
- Well maintained, fit for purpose FP&A models, templates and system inputs that support scalable Group reporting.
- Ad hoc analytical support to Group FP&A and senior stakeholders, where required and subject to capacity.
- UK qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with +5 years post qualification experience.
- Commercial outlook and experience of preparing business plans, producing detailed financial analysis and Board reporting would be beneficial.
- Experience in general insurance.
- Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with and influence all types of people and all levels of management.
- Self motivator, pro active in all aspects of the role.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills are essential, and proficiency in using other MS Word and PowerPoint.
