Job Description

To lead, develop, and strengthen the group controller activities, including treasury functions, to provide early insight into the short-term, medium-term, and long-term cash flow and liquidity of the business. Ensure that the company's internal and external reporting is delivered to the highest standards. The Group Controller is a key member of the finance organization and a foundational business partner to the group CFO. The role supervises management accounting, statutory reporting, treasury, and tax activities.

  1. Maintain and improve visibility on short, medium, and long-term cash needs and resources; enhance the group's liquidity.
  2. Responsible for weekly updates of the short-term treasury forecast (16 weeks) and regular reporting to HSBC to meet loan reporting requirements.
  3. Prepare long-term and short-term cash flow forecasts based on models combining short-term balance sheet unwinding and longer-term projections.
  4. Supervise the management accounting team, providing technical support and ensuring effective checks and reconciliations.
  5. Manage the group consolidation process.
  6. Regularly review and document balance sheet accounts.
  7. Enhance documentation of financial control processes and accounting policies in the Maintel manual.
  8. Provide accounting and tax technical expertise to the team and supervise external tax advisors' work.
  9. Prepare the goodwill impairment test annually.
  10. Prepare the going concern note for auditors.
  11. Lead the full-year processes, including the production of the year-end report, statutory accounts, and draft narratives for the financial sections of the annual report. Drive the production of notes to financial statements for interim and annual reports.
  12. File statutory reports and returns, including VAT, tax returns, and R&D tax credit claims.
