Our groups provide a welcoming and supportive space for people affected by dementia to engage in activities, socialise with others and get support and information.
As a Group Facilitator Volunteer, you'll provide key support with the administration and running of the group, by coordinating and facilitating activities, welcoming people to the group and keeping records of those attending. You'll also support with the set up and tidying away after the group, as well as providing encouragement to people attending to participate in the activities on offer. As part of a team, there may be opportunities to facilitate these group sessions unsupervised, should the need arise.
This role will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal Records Check from either the Disclosure and Barring Service (England & Wales), Disclosure Scotland Check (Scotland) or AccessNI (Northern Ireland). If you require further information regarding Criminal Records Check, please contact
Qualifications- You have good verbal communication and facilitation skills
- You are confident and enthusiastic
- You enjoy meeting new people and being part of a team
- You are aware of or are willing to learn about dementia and its impact on people
- You can demonstrate empathy and compassion
