The Role The role is responsible for implementing the Data Management component of the Data Strategy Action Plan to drive data innovation, enhance data fluency, improve data quality, and overall maximize data and analytics utilization as a key value creator for Hiscox.Reporting to the Group Head of Data Management, the Group Data Manager ensures active data ownership and executive understanding of data's value in operations. The Group Data Manager is an expert in core Data Management and Data Governance delivery.We are seeking an accomplished Data professional who knows what good looks like, has successfully delivered Data Management and Data Governance in their previous roles, has a strategic mindset with a highly pragmatic approach to identifying and delivering business value through good data management practices. Experience of a matrix management environment is essential.This role manages the Data Management resources within the Group Data team, and leads the collaboration across the Heads of Data and their data teams in the Business Units to ensure there is a engaged aligned data community in Hiscox.The Group Data Manager supports the Group Head of Data Management in the overall internal engagement and quality assurance of the work being produced by the Business Unit Data teams. The Group Data Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for Hiscox stakeholders, oversight of all deliverables, ensure alignment with the Hiscox Data Strategy and Hiscox Group Data Policy, and steer the execution of the work plan. This role also provides strategic guidance on data governance practices and ensures the integration of technical efforts with business priorities. Key Responsibilities Oversight of both the business and technical scope of data requirements for the business, ensuring alignment and strategic fit with the Data Strategy. Skills Data driven - you have strong analytical skills, with the ability to collect, analyse, and interpret data to inform decision-making and measure effectiveness. You have a strong commitment to continuous improvement, constantly seeking out new opportunities to enhance the colleague and end user experience. You actively solicit user feedback, staying attuned to their evolving needs and preferences, and leverage industry best practices.You possess exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas and concepts to a diverse range of stakeholders.
