Groundskeeper

Job Title: Groundskeeper (1 Day per Week)

Location: Secondary School, Barnet, North London NW11

Working Pattern: 1 day per week (Monday or Friday preferred)

Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Groundskeeper to support the upkeep of the outdoor areas at our secondary school in Barnet. This is a part time role for one day per week, ideally on a Monday or Friday, helping to ensure the school grounds remain safe, tidy, and well maintained for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• General maintenance of school grounds including lawns, pathways, and planted areas
• Grass cutting, edging, and hedge trimming
• Leaf clearing and seasonal grounds maintenance
• Basic upkeep of sports fields and outdoor spaces
• Litter picking and ensuring grounds are clean and presentable
• Identifying and reporting any maintenance or safety issues

Requirements

• Previous groundskeeping or landscape maintenance experience (essential)
• Ability to operate basic grounds maintenance equipment safely
• Reliable, self motivated, and able to work independently
• Good attention to detail and pride in maintaining outdoor spaces
• Understanding of health and safety when working on school premises
