Grounds Operative - AR

Job Title: Grounds Operative (Cemetery)

Location: Kingsdown and Whitworth Road Cemetery

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am-3:30pm or 8:00am-4:00pm

Job Purpose

To maintain the cemetery grounds to a high standard, ensuring the site is clean, tidy, and respectful for visitors, while also assisting with burial related duties as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general grounds maintenance across the cemetery
• Use equipment such as mowers, strimmers, and hand tools
• Maintain grass, paths, hedges, and general site appearance
• Assist with burial preparations and interments as part of a team
• Support safe and respectful operations within the cemetery grounds
• Carry out basic equipment checks and report any issues
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions

Requirements

• Ability to carry out physical, manual outdoor work
• Willingness to work in a cemetery environment
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Previous grounds maintenance or landscaping experience is beneficial but not essential
