Overview

At Tarmac, who you are matters. We are currently looking for a talented and motivated Grinding & Packing Plant Manager to join our Cement & Lime business at Tunstead Cement Plant. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a critical operational area, leading the safe, efficient and reliable production, storage, packing and dispatch of cement products while driving performance, continuous improvement and operational excellence across the plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Champion a safety first culture, ensuring compliance with all company and CRH safety standards.
• Lead and develop a high performing operational team, providing coaching, support and succession planning.
• Manage daily grinding, packing and dispatch activities to ensure customer requirements are met.
• Drive operational performance, efficiency, reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate closely with maintenance teams to plan and execute maintenance activities and annual shutdowns.
• Manage plant budgets, cost control and expenditure tracking.
• Ensure raw materials and packaging supplies are available to support uninterrupted operations.
• Work collaboratively with quality, logistics, supply chain and commercial teams to optimise performance.
• Support the delivery of site improvement projects and new product introductions.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers and contractors.

What We're Looking For Essential Experience

• Strong knowledge of cement manufacturing processes.
• Significant experience within a cement manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record of leading operational teams in a heavy industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Experience managing contractors, projects and cross functional activities.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver operational and business performance targets.

Skills & Knowledge

• Strong leadership and people management capability.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Effective problem solving and decision making abilities.
• Good commercial awareness and budget management experience.
• IT proficiency, including SAP and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to prioritise workload and manage competing demands.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• High attention to detail with a focus on operational excellence.
