Graduate Teaching Assistant ( Primary SEN)

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Setting: Specialist primary provision for pupils with additional needs
Focus: Aspiring Educational Psychologists, Speech & Language Therapists, or SEN Teachers
Responsibilities: 1:1 support and small group interventions within a structured, nurturing environment
Schedule: Monday - Friday (Term Time Only)
Salary: £500 - £510 per week

• Provide consistent, nurturing support for pupils with a range of additional needs, particularly communication and interaction difficulties.

• Deliver structured 1:1 and small group interventions, focusing on emotional regulation, communication, and engagement in learning.

• Support the implementation of individualised learning and behaviour plans, developed alongside a multidisciplinary team.

• Use visual supports, routines, and adapted teaching strategies to help pupils access learning and feel secure.

• Foster a calm, safe, and inclusive environment that promotes independence and confidence.

• Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure a holistic approach to each child's development.

• A Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related field (2:2 or above)

• A genuine interest in special educational needs, particularly autism and communication needs

• A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting children

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Experience working with children is desirable, but not essential

• A passion for progressing into education, educational psychology, or therapeutic roles
