Your New RoleAs an R&D Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of both new and existing machines and components. Working within established engineering office procedures and standards, you will contribute to projects across Product Lifetime Care (PLC), Design to Cost (DTC), New Product Development (NPD), and Engineering Change Orders (ECO). Your tasks will include creating detailed 3D models and 2D drawings, generating bills of materials, and supporting prototype builds. You will also play a key role in identifying opportunities for cost reduction and product improvement, while maintaining high standards of documentation and safety.
What You Will Need to SucceedTo succeed in this role, you should have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline. You will need experience in CAD modelling and drafting. Industrial work placements, particularly in heavy engineering or mobile equipment, will be highly regarded. A solid understanding of steel structures, welded fabrications, sheet metal components, and using tools such as Google Workspace and Microsoft Office. Strong communication skills and a proactive, safety-conscious approach are key to thriving in this role.
