Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant

A Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant position is available at an 'Outstanding' primary school in Wolverhampton, starting September 2026 until July 2027. This temporary role pays £85 to £101 per day.

Role Overview

Support Year 6 pupils through one to one sessions, small group interventions, and whole class assistance. Reinforce curriculum understanding, maintain engagement during lessons, and help children build confidence ahead of SATs and their transition to secondary school. This role is suited to a creative graduate seeking hands on experience before a career in education.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted 1:1 work, small group interventions, and general classroom support to the Year 6 class.
• Help pupils develop understanding across the curriculum, reinforce key learning, and maintain engagement during lessons.
• Support preparation for SATs and encourage pupils to approach their final primary year with confidence.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and bring energy to the classroom.

Candidate Profile

• 2:2 degree or above in a creative subject.
• Genuine interest in primary education and supporting Year 6 pupils.
• Strong communication skills and a positive, patient approach.
• Ability to work confidently as part of a classroom team.
• Enhanced DBS - Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
