Job Description
Graduate opportunities with performance hockey

Marlow Hockey Club, Marlow, Buckinghamshire.

Marlow Hockey Club is based in the beautiful riverside town of Marlow, with great transport links to London via the Elizabeth Line from neighbouring Maidenhead, and the Chiltern Line from High Wycombe. We have a population of 14,000 and a membership of 1,600 - an incredible statistic which underscores the importance of the hockey club to the local community.

We run 8 men's teams and 8 women's teams, and much of our talent is home-grown. We are an EH Talent Club, and both our first teams play in the EHL West Conference with ambitions to go higher.

We are seeking to recruit players for our performance squads, and have a flexible package of support available, including opportunities which, with the support of our lead sponsor Amber River, will allow two players to combine a new career, performance hockey, and opportunities to build coaching skills and experience (most likely, but not necessarily, with junior squads). The career opportunity is a three-year pathway to achieving Chartered Financial Planner status and will suit either new graduates or those early in their careers seeking a new direction. Salaries will be commensurate with the roles, with the opportunity to further supplement income with coaching.

Key requirements
  • A good degree, numeracy, and possessing good communication skills.
  • Experience of, and success in a performance hockey environment at EHL level or equivalent.
  • An outgoing and enthusiastic personality.
  • The ability to help with the development of younger players.
  • An aptitude for (and ideally experience of) coaching.

If you think this opportunity sounds interesting we would be delighted to hear from you. Whilst this advertisement describes a specific pair of opportunities, we would invite others who have the ability to contribute to our performance squads to get in touch for an exploratory conversation.

Applicants must have the right to live and work in the UK.
