Job Description
About the Opportunity

A Graduate role at Ramboll gives you the flexibility and opportunity to develop into an all-rounder. You will gain valuable experience working on a broad range of projects across highways, energy, marine and more. Previous education will be an important foundation, but your ability to learn new engineering concepts and pick up new technology quickly and effectively will define your success. If you enjoy challenging the status quo and finding efficient and novel ways to tackle unfamiliar engineering problems, then you will thrive here, and if you believe that a design team can become more than the sum of its parts through effective communication, then you will fit in well.

Graduate areas
  • Infrastructure - designing and integrating transport, drainage and utility systems using digital innovation
  • Ground Engineering - delivering foundation, retaining and ground improvement solutions that ensure stability, safety and efficiency in all ground conditions
  • Transport Planning - developing data driven, sustainable transport and mobility strategies
  • Civil Structures - designing bridges, viaducts and structural frameworks that combine strength, efficiency and elegant engineering
  • Roads & Highways - creating safe, efficient and sustainable road networks through smart design of pavements, drainage and junctions
  • Marine - designing resilient coastal, port and offshore infrastructure to meet the challenges of tides, waves and rising seas
  • Tunnels & Underground Space - delivering safe, efficient designs for tunnels, shafts and subsurface structures that connect and support modern cities
Your key tasks and responsibilities will be to:
  • Contribute to the overall design and delivery of transport related projects throughout the project lifecycle
  • Perform analysis using computer modelling; create, read and interpret technical material
  • Develop digital tools and approaches to solve engineering challenges for our clients
  • Translate engineering concepts and solutions into presentations, reports, sketches, drawings and infographics that communicate their essence and demonstrate their value to our clients and key stakeholders
  • Identify potential health & safety, design and commercial risks on our projects and contribute towards mitigating them
  • Pursue continuous professional development, including working towards chartership with a recognised institution
Your skills and experience

We believe your starting point for this role is:

  • A Bachelors or Masters level degree in a relevant engineering discipline (General Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, Engineering Geology)
  • Ability to summarise and present information via different channels (e.g. report writing, Power Point, hand sketching)
  • An understanding of Digital Automation

We don't expect you to know everything, but we do expect curiosity, responsibility and a desire to deliver high quality work. Good communication and collaboration skills are essential.
