About the Role - Graduate Classroom Assistant - Cheltenham
As a Graduate Classroom Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. Working closely with experienced teachers, you will help deliver engaging lessons, support pupil progress, and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
You will gain hands-on experience supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom, including working with individuals and small groups, and assisting those who may require additional support.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting teaching and learning within the classroom
- Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
- Working with small groups or on a 1:1 basis when required
- Encouraging pupil engagement, confidence, and participation
- Supporting pupils with additional learning or behavioural needs
- Helping to maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborating with teachers and wider school staff
The Ideal Candidate
- A recent graduate (any subject considered)
- Passionate about working with children and young people
- Considering a career in teaching, psychology, or education
- Positive, proactive, and adaptable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to build rapport quickly with pupils and staff
- Previous experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential)
