Days: Monday - Friday. Working flexibly between 7am and 7pm
Leeds District has 1 vacancy for a Crime Clerical Officer.
Leeds District Crime Clerical consists of 3 staff members under the supervision of a Detective Inspector.
Leeds District Crime Clerical is a small team based at Leeds District DHQ where we ensure the smooth running of clerical functions within the district. This primarily includes compiling reports in relation to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA), liaising with insurance companies in relation to potential fraudulent claims and correctly filing district paperwork under the Management of Police Information (MOPI) guidance.
Job Description / Your Role
- Preparing reports in relation to CICA claims - CIS and NICHE.
- Providing crime reports to insurance companies / insurance brokers.
- Providing crime reports to other UK Police Forces - CIS and NICHE.
- Correct filing of paperwork in accordance with the Force MOPI policy including scanning documents and updating NICHE.
- Dealing with requests from Officers for filed crime paperwork (occasional heavy lifting of boxes required).
Personal qualities
- Willingness to undertake and ability to successfully complete IT and manual handling courses required for the role.
- Is able to demonstrate research and analytical skills, using them to evaluate information as an aid to making an informed decision.
- Is able to demonstrate a good standard of written and verbal communication.
- A willingness and ability to work with minimal supervision and able to manage their own workload.
- Personal responsibility - prepared to take ownership of allocated CICA claims and ensuring reports are submitted in a timely manner.
- A basic understanding of General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
