Position OverviewUndergraduate General Practice (UGP) is recruiting sessional GP tutors to deliver teaching across years 1-3 of the University of Dundee MBChB programme. These part time posts, paid hourly, involve teaching on the Ninewells or City Campus.
Within years 1-3, students spend one afternoon per week focusing on generalism and general practice. Posts are either small group lecturers or applied clinical reasoning workshops.
RolesSmall group work tutors: allocated a group from each of years 1, 2 and 3, delivering 21 afternoon sessions (2-4pm) over the academic year plus 2 non timed professional development sessions. Tutors also act as Advisor of Studies for an additional 3 sessions annually.
Applied clinical reasoning tutors: teaching groups from each year, delivering 13 afternoon sessions (2-4pm) over the year, plus 2 non timed professional development sessions.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver scheduled teaching sessions.
- Support student assessment.
- Liaise with academic and undergraduate general practice faculty as required.
- Maintain an active link with the profession and current clinical practice.
- Hold an MBChB or equivalent.
- Have an active licence to practice, or be within 3 years of retaining one.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Committed to continuing professional development.
- Certified general practitioner of any career stage; pre certification doctors may apply if they anticipate achieving a CCT by the start of the academic year.
