GP Receptionist Part Time 24 hours per week

Responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and theprovision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include but are not limited to, greetingand directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, bookingappointments, processing of information and assisting patients asrequired. To act as the central point ofcontact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiriesfor the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members andexternal agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.
Main duties of the joba. Maintainand monitor the practice appointment system.
b. Processpersonal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
c. Answerincoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers requestappropriately.
d. Signpostpatients to the correct service
e. Themanagement of repeat prescriptions, ensuring they are processed accuratelyand efficiently.
f. Initiatingcontact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members andexternal agencies
g. Clinicallycode data on Systm1
h. Photocopydocumentation as required.
i. Dataentry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information asrequired.
j. Inputdata into patients healthcare records as necessary
k. Directrequests for information, i.e., SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLAforms to the administrative team
l. Manageall queries as necessary in an efficient manner.
m. Maintaina clean, tidy, effective working area at all times.
n. Monitorand maintain the reception area and notice boards.
o. Supportall clinical staff with general tasks as requested.
p. Actionincoming emails and correspondence as necessary
q. Scanpatient related documentation and attach scanned documents to patients records.
r. Completeopening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty Rota.

We have an Advanced Nurse Prescriber,and a Nurse Practitioner In Addition wehave two highly motivated and experienced nurses who, along with our two healthcare assistants take care of much of our long term conditions monitoring. Thepractice is fortunate in having excellent administration and reception staff atboth sites
Job responsibilitiesMonday, Tuesday, Wednesday 12.30pm. - 6.30pm and Friday 12md - 6pm
