GP Receptionist

Due to the retirement of one of our team, we are looking for a friendly, approachable and enthusiastic receptionist.
Our reception team ensures our patients are directed to the most appropriate service or clinician.
The hours of work are 25 hours per week, 5 hours per day on a rota basis between 7:45am and 18:45pm.
There may be an occasion where you would be required to work extra hours to cover annual leave or other absences.
Main duties of the jobReception duties, including answering calls, bookingappointments, sign posting patients, dealing with prescription requests and allpatient queries.

We own our own building and have an extensive primary careteam comprising of 4 GP Partners,1salaried GP, 3 ANPs, 1 Paramedic, 4 PracticeNurses, 1 HCA, 1 Trainee Nursing Associate, Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacytechnician, Social Prescriber, Mental Health Practitioner and a supportiveAdministration and Reception team.

Ourtriage system coordinated by our Advanced Nurse Practitioner team allows forexcellent access to services. We are active members of our local Primary CareNetwork, perform well in QOF and are rated "Good" by the CQC.
Job responsibilities- Greeting patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Managing appointment bookings and cancellations
- Handling incoming calls and responding to queries
- Maintaining accurate patient records using clinical systems
- Processing online triage requests
- Liaising with clinicians and other healthcare professionals
- Ensuring confidentiality and data protection at all times
- Supporting general administrative duties within the practice
- Keeping the reception and patient waiting areas clean and tidy
- GCSE grade A-C (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Experience of working in a customer facing role
- Experience of working in a GP Practice
- Experience of using EMIS or similar clinical system
- Experience of using Microsoft Office applications
- IT literate
- Awareness of Data Protection and Confidentiality
