GP Receptionist role in a small family run practice. Front of house, patient facing role.
Training will be provided to successful candidate but previous experience is preferable.
Practice works on EMIS and Docman so previous experience using these systems would be beneficial.
Friendly, supportive and approachable team including clinical and non clinical staff which leads to a high staff retention rate.

Main duties of the jobDuties include but not limited to:
BOOKING APPOINTMENTS BY PHONE AND IN PERSON
DEALING WITH PATIENT QUERIES
ASSIST IN CALL AND RECALL FOR PATIENTS ON QOFREGISTERS
OPENING, SCANNING AND DISTRIBUTING POST
RECEIVE AND PROCESS REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONREQUESTS
OTHER ADMIN DUTIES
ATTEND TEAM MEETINGS
About usBilston Family Practice is a small family run practice with a list size of 4350 patients.
We have a very friendly, approachable and supportive team made up of 2 GP partners, 2 salaried GP's, nursing, admin staff and ARRS roles such as physiotherapists and pharmacists.
Regular team meetings are held to ensure staff are kept up to date with changes in the practice.
Regular social events take place throughout the year.

Job responsibilitiesThe post holder will assist in theeffective organisation and day to day operation of Practice Services in acourteous, efficient and effective way.
1.To receive patients attending the surgery.
2.To deal with appointment requests patients by telephone and inperson.
3. To receive andprocess requests for repeat prescriptions from patients and/or theirrepresentatives in accordance with practice guidelines.
4. To deal with patient queries andliaise with clinical staff where necessary.
5.Toassist in the maintenance of comprehensive computer based practice recordsincluding registration of new patients, amendment of patient details, scanningof clinical documents into individual patient records.
6.Tobe responsible for the maintenance of the QoF registers ensuring they are up todate.
7.To assist the Practice Nurse and GPs in the operation of calland recall systems for patients on disease registers ensuring that patients areinvited for regular review.
8. To be responsible for the receipt, opening and scanning ofPractice post ensuring it is distributed to appropriate clinicians/staff.
9.Any other duties appropriate to the position.

Person Specification Experience- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- IT literate
- Experience of working in a GP practice
- Experience of using EMIS and Docman
