Job Description
Part Time 25.5 hours per week working on Monday to Friday (worked a rota bases 8.00am/ 1.30pm 1.30pm / 6.30PM) as a mixture of shifts through the week

previous experience ofworking in a General Practice is preferred although training will be providedto a suitable candidate

Covid 19: We are a patient facing service. Some risk remains which can not be eliminated and application for the roles means that you accept the small risk associated with working in a GP Practice.
Main duties of the job Mane Duties of the job
The primary responsibility is to provide a high quality clerical, administrative service to our patients. Responsible for all front of house services and patient signposting.
The ability to use own judgement, resourcefulness & common sense, work under pressure whilst remaining calm is essential, as is the ability to work as part of a team. A flexible and co-operative approach is essential. Flexibility is very important
All aspects of reception and administration duties within a GP Practiceincluding but not limited to:
Dealing with patient queries by telephone, online platform and inperson.
Assisting all members of the Practice team
Adhering to health and safety, confidentiality, policies and proceduresplus mandatory training
All reasonable tasks as required by Management and Doctors.

Job responsibilities Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure aneffective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and anyother visitors to the practice
- Deal with allgeneral enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-upappointments.
- Using your own judgmentand communication skills ensure that patients with no prior appointmentbut who need urgent consultation are seen in a logical and non-disruptivemanner.
- Explain practicearrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seekingtemporary cover and ensure procedures are completed.
- Receive and maketelephone calls as required. Divertcalls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and promptappropriate delivery (as per practice protocol).
- Enter requests forhome visits onto the computer system, ensuring careful recording of allrelevant details and where necessary refer to Duty Doctor.(as per visitprotocol)
- Action repeatprescription requests and ensure that they are ready for collection by thepatient within 48 hours.
- Advise patients ofrelevant charges for private (non General Medical Services) services,accept payment and issue receipts for same.
- Enter patientinformation on to the computer as required.
- Ensure that allnew patients are registered onto the computer system promptly andaccurately
- Make and serverefreshments, ensure the kitchen is kept clean in turn with other staff.
- To provide generalsupport to the Doctors, PracticeManager and Health Professionals involving word processing with generalclerical work
- InputPatient Data ensuring correct readcodes are used
- Toreceive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls in order tofacilitate timely and appropriate communications with others, takingmessages and dealing with appropriate queries.
- Tomaintain the computer clinic system in an accurate and secure manner.
- Toassist with the gathering of statistics and information when required.
- Toprovide cover for members of the Reception team during periods of sicknessand annual leave.
- Inliaison with the Team Leader maintain adequate supplies of officestationery in order to perform your duties.
- Any other duties deemedreasonable by the Partners / Practice Manager
