INTERVIEWS WILL BE HELD FROM THURSDAY 2ND OCTOBER 2025 ONWARDS.
Following the release of ARRS GP information and funding we are looking for newly qualified (within 2 years and not having a substantive post), enthusiasticforward thinking GP(s) to join Harness North PCN working at Wembley Park Medical Centre on a fixed term salariedcontract, preferably with an immediate start date.
The post holder will demonstratecourageous and critical thinking and is a caring, compassionate and committedgeneral practitioner who, acting within their professional boundaries, will deliverhigh quality medical care and services to the practice population, managing aclinical caseload and dealing with a diverse range of health needs. This willinclude, but is not limited to, surgery and telephone consultations, homevisits, administration, complying with the practices contracts(APMS/GMS/PMS/enhanced services).
The post holder will commit todemonstrating critical thinking in the safe clinical decision-making process.They will communicate and work collaboratively with the general practice teamto meet the needs of patients.
Main duties of the jobProvisionsof Clinical Care
1.Undertakes all duties and responsibilities associated with a GPworking within primary care, including a full range of medical services asdefined in the core APMS/PMS/GMS contract and additional and enhanced serviceswhere appropriate in line with the GMC Good Medical Practice Standards
2.Patient facing work aligned to improving quality of care withagreed autonomy regarding details of sessions.
3.Contributing to continuity of care and risk management of patients
4.On occasion may need to provide home visits
5.Oversee and participate in chronic disease management, which thepost holder may lead, for defined conditions and/or patients.
6.Work as part of the team to ensure all targets and performanceindicators are met.
7.Participate in specified clinical meetings.
8.Participate in, and on occasion lead, clinical audit, and qualityimprovement activities.
9.Participate in achieving contractual and population healthtargets, including QOF, IIF, and enhanced services.
About usHarness North PCN
Our PCN consists of 10 GP practices, caring for a population of over 72,000 patients. Wembley Park Medical Centre in the PCN serving a population of up to 25,000 patients.
We work together with a range of local providers, including acute trusts, community services, social care, voluntary sector and patient participation groups, to offer more personalised, co-ordinated health and social care to our local population.
We currently employ a large team including:
- Management and Administration Support
- Clinical Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians
- Social Prescribing Link Workers
- Health and Wellbeing Coaches
- First Contact Physiotherapists
Main Duties
1.Comply with the GMC Code of Conduct
2.To provide high quality clinical care to patients through face toface, online and telephone consultations
3.Make timely, clear, computer-based records of consultations andcontact with patients.
4.Maintain administrative records relating to the practice contract,enhanced services and QOF.
5.Contribute to providing a supportive environment for other staffthrough informal catchups and contact.
6.Attend and contribute to in-house meetings, including clinical,educational/training-related and administrative meetings.
7.Attend meetings and events held by external agencies and stakeholders.
8.Liaison with clinical pharmacists and other attached ARRS staff
9.Practise evidence-based medicine, in line with national andlocally agreed guidelines.
10.Prescribe in line with local and national guidelines.
11.Work with the GP Clinical Supervisor and Practice Manager to driveinnovation and clinical development.
12.Act as a mentor and positive role model to other members of staff,sharing information and good practice.
13.Prioritise own workload and collaborate effectively with others toprioritise team and practice workload.
14.Keep a portfolio and potentially develop a special interest.
15.Undertake training as required to ensure competencies fordelivering all responsibilities, to meet personal, statutory and practiceeducation and learning needs, including keeping records of learning, complaintsand feedback.
16.Keep up to date with current evidence-based approaches to patientcare and service delivery, in line with NICE and the National Service Framework
17.Undertake and contribute to education activities, such asreviewing significant events, clinical audit etc.
Person Specification Qualifications- - Newly qualified GP, within 2 years and not having had a substantive post.
- - Registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and license to practice.
- - Membership of appropriate Medical Organisation (MDU, MPS, etc)
- - Inclusion in NHS England / NW London Performers List of Medical Practitioners
- - Experience of working in a primary care environment
- - Experience of dealing with a range of clinical conditions
- - Experience of continued professional development
- - Proven ability to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of own clinical practice.
- - Understanding of evidence-based practice
- - Evidence of working autonomously, with some support and supervision
- - Experience of medicine management
- - Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- - Experience in triage
- - Knowledge of Quality and Outcomes Framework
- - Knowledge of public health issues in the local area
- - Awareness of issues within the wider health arena
- - Knowledge of health-promotion strategies
- - Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- - Clear, polite telephone manner
- - Experience of working in General Practice using EMIS clinical system
- - Effective time management
- - Ability to work as a team and autonomously.

- Outstanding level of clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with that of an experienced GP
