The Goods Inwards Stock Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the receipt, inspection, verification, and storage of incoming goods. The role ensures that all deliveries are accurate, properly documented, and stored in compliance with company procedures and health & safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the goods receiving team during unloading and inspection of deliveries
• Verify received goods against purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices
• Inspect shipments for damages, shortages, or discrepancies
• Ensure accurate recording of stock into the inventory management system
• Liaise with procurement, warehouse, and logistics departments regarding delivery issues
• Maintain proper, barcoding, labelling, storage, and stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO principles)
• Conduct regular stock counts and audits
• Implement best practices for inventory accuracy
• Prepare and submit reports on receiving activities and discrepancies
• Ensure compliance with health & safety standards in the receiving area
• Train and mentor receiving staff to maintain operational efficiency
• Monitor performance and implement improvements in receiving processes
