Job Title: GOLF SHOP ASSISTANT Reports To: HEAD GOLF PROFESSIONAL Location: BIRCHWOOD PARK GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB Salary: £22,630 - £26,510 Key Relationships: Co-Workers / Line Manager / HOD Team / AGM & General Manager Key Accountabilities- Greeting customers and offering assistance
- Advising customers on golf clubs, balls, shoes, clothing, and accessories
- Operating tills and processing payments
- Restocking shelves and maintaining product displays
- Keeping the shop clean, organised, and well presented
- Assisting with inventory checks and stock management
- Handling customer queries, returns, and exchanges
- Supporting bookings for tee times, lessons, or club services
- Promoting special offers, memberships, or loyalty programmes
- Achieve good sale performance results each month
- Ensure personal level of compliance within the BGL Academy is 100% at all times.
- Ensure all BGL procedures and policies are adhered to
- Maintain the highest level of security never leaving the retail area unattended
- Complete opening and closing procedures as per shift
- Ensure compliance with all BGL Health & Safety procedures
- Perform relevant duties as required by your line manager and Senior Management Team.
- Previous golf, retail or hospitality experience
- Experience using POS/till systems
- Knowledge of major golf brands such as TaylorMade, Ping, Titleist etc (desirable, not essential)
- Personal playing experience or understanding of golf equipment can be an advantage
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Friendly, approachable, and professional attitude
- Interest in golf and knowledge of golf products
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
- Basic numeracy and payment operation skills
- Teamwork and reliability
- Attention to detail and organisation
- Organised and enthusiastic with a "can do" attitude and attention to detail.
