Job Description

Our client, a prestigious global asset manager, is looking to hire a quantitative focused research analyst to join the Multi-Asset Investment team.

The purpose of this role is to generate cutting-edge research that will feed into the investment process, particularly on medium/long term thematic drivers. All the research produced is practitioner-driven rather than academic, providing useful investment insight.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Translate market and investment views into testable quantitative hypotheses to provide insightful research for the Multi-Asset team.
  2. Produce complex analytical thought pieces on key thematic topics that will impact investment decision making.
  3. Analyse and contribute to the research effort on the quantitative aspects of thematic research, likely to include both historic outcomes and likely forward-looking scenarios, utilising forward-looking capital market assumptions and market history.
  4. Collaborate with Portfolio Managers to support the asset allocation research efforts.

Candidate Profile:

  1. Relevant experience in a high-quality working environment in finance, government, or central bank.
  2. Flexible on background but demonstrable evidence of substantial prior work in econometrics.
  3. Strong academic credentials; Masters level or higher in economics, econometrics, or relevant quantitative finance discipline.
  4. Proficient programming experience in Python or R.
  5. Interest in applying mathematical and statistical concepts to real-world financial problems.
  6. Strong interest in global macroeconomics and political economy.
  7. Creative thinker with the ability to generate ideas and stimulate discussions using a quantitative approach.
  8. Desire to learn, humble, and open to different points of views.
  9. Ability to be a team player in a collegial and collaborative working culture.
