Mission/Purpose of the Role:

The Global Instructional Design Manager is responsible for leading a team that designs and develops technical and behavioral learning solutions for employees across three divisions: Semiconductor, Semiconductor Service, and Vacuum Chamber Solutions.

This role ensures that training development requirements are understood, appropriately scoped, prioritized, and delivered to the agreed quality standards, within time and budget.

Additionally, the role brings a strong flair for learning innovation to ensure that learning solutions continuously evolve in line with technological advances and maximize opportunities to develop and exploit existing internal and future knowledge management systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire the global Instructional Design team to deliver effective and engaging learning solutions across all competency types (Core, Functional & Product).
  • Establish the strategic direction for the adoption of technology-driven learning & development solutions across all Semi divisions.
  • Work with senior business leaders and L&D stakeholders to design and communicate a vision of technology-enhanced digital learning, translating opportunities into meaningful business plans that secure investment.
  • Ensure the Instructional Design team is appropriately resourced with the necessary knowledge, skills, and processes.
  • Develop and manage relationships with suppliers providing specialist knowledge and services to realize business plans.
  • Maintain knowledge of leading-edge learning technologies and disseminate across the organization.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on digital learning adoption and performance across the Semi divisions.
  • Lead the adoption of immersive learning technologies (AR/VR/MR).
  • Identify areas for adopting immersive learning technologies that provide high added value.
  • Ensure internal resources are capable of supporting deployed technologies like e-learning and m-learning.
  • Define strategic direction for increased adoption of e-learning and m-learning.
  • Design and implement an e/m-learning content strategy aligned with current and future division needs.
  • Ensure resources are available to support the content strategy.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the feasibility of e/m-learning solutions.
  • Establish a methodology for implementing and using instructionally enhanced video content.
  • Create blended learning programs combining various resources for an improved experience.
  • Build collaboration with data owners to create an ecosystem providing learners access to all necessary resources.

Skills/Knowledge & Experience:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong background in adult learning.
  • Extensive experience in developing technical and soft skills learning solutions.
  • Deep knowledge of Instructional Design principles and lifecycle.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Occasional regional and international travel.
