Geotechnical Engineer

Structural Soils, part of the RSK Group, is looking for an experienced and ambitious Geotechnical Engineer to help grow their team in the UK. We have offices in Bristol, Hemel Hempstead, Tunbridge Wells, Castleford, Wigan & Glasgow.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity. You will join a knowledgeable and talented team, assisting in the delivery of geotechnical projects and demonstrating technical, commercial, and site management capabilities.
Responsibilities:- Liaising with clients, engineering supervisors, and subcontractors
- Setting up and organizing ground investigation works
- Supervising intrusive investigation activities such as drilling, trial pitting, and in-situ testing
- Soil and rock logging and laboratory scheduling
- Processing field and laboratory results
- BSc degree in geology, civil engineering, or a related environmental subject
- Previous UK ground investigation site experience
- MSc in geotechnical or engineering geology (preferable but not essential)
- Ability to log samples to BS 5930+A2 standards
- Good knowledge of UK soil and rock strata
- Familiarity with geological maps and data interpretation
- Basic understanding of water, ground, and soil gas monitoring techniques
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work within a team
- Willing to travel nationally or internationally
- Full UK driving license
- Working towards chartership with the Geological Society (preferred)
- Excellent report writing skills
- Flexibility to travel to different sites as required
