Geography Teacher - Wakefield

About the role

We are seeking a Geography Teacher to join a well-regarded secondary school in Wakefield starting ASAP until July 2026. This is a full-time, long-term supply role delivering engaging Geography lessons across KS3 and KS4. The school is known for its supportive leadership team, positive culture, and strong commitment to staff development. The school welcomes applications from both ECTs and experienced teachers. Interviews will take place soon - early applications are highly encouraged.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Geography across KS3 and KS4, delivering high-quality, engaging lessons.
• Plan, prepare and assess work in line with curriculum requirements.
• Support pupils' progress and adapt teaching to meet a range of learning needs.
• Maintain a positive and purposeful classroom environment.
• Contribute to departmental collaboration and uphold school values.

Pre-requisites

• Relevant teaching qualifications (QTS or QTLS required).
• Proven experience of teaching Geography at secondary level (ECT placements accepted).
• Strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 Geography curriculum.
• Two education or school-based references.
• A valid enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
