Job Summary

General Services Supervisor (Band 3) within the Facilities Department at Borders General Hospital. This is a permanent, 36 hour per week role covering the east area of the hospital. The position requires a rolling shift pattern, working weekdays and weekends in early and late shifts.

Responsibilities

• Supervise general services teams and ensure efficient delivery of domestic services across the east area.
• Plan and coordinate domestic activities, ensuring high quality standards and compliance with NHS Borders Behavioural Framework.
• Manage shift rosters, ensuring coverage of weekday and weekend shifts and maintaining appropriate staffing levels.
• Support staff training and development, fostering a culture of safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators, identifying areas for improvement and implementing action plans.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Demonstrated competence in domestic activities and domestic service leadership.
• Strong organisational and people management skills with flexibility to work across early and late, weekday and weekend shifts.
• Knowledge of the NHS Borders Behavioural Framework and commitment to its principles.
• Valid right to work in the UK or eligibility for sponsorship (subject to confirmation).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
