We are seeking to recruit a part time General Practitioner to join the team at Ilex View medical practice. We provide primary care to over 10'000 patients in Rossendale.
You will be joining an established multidisciplinary team who take great pride in their work and seek to deliver the best possible care for our patients.
We welcome applications from newly qualified or experienced GPs.
Main duties of the job- You will undertake a variety of duties including: face-to-face, video and telephone consultations, home visits, prescriptions preparation and associated queries, paperwork and correspondence
- Make professional, autonomous decisions in regards to presenting problems, whether self-referred or from other colleagues within the organisation
- Assess the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated or undiagnosed problems
- Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
- Develop care plans in consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols
- Provide counselling and health education
- Admit or discharge patients to/from the caseload and refer to other care providers as appropriate
- Record clear contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
- Collect data for audit purposes
- Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
- Prescribe in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary as clinically appropriate

You will be responsible for the delivery of GP care to a diverse practice population. Supported by an experienced team, you will deliver exceptional patient care. You will make and act on assessment of a patient's needs.
You will work collaboratively with the Practice team to meet the needs of patients by providing safe, personal, quality based care.
You will be part of an on-call rota.
You will support the delivery of policy and provide GP leadership, supporting and supervising junior clinical colleagues as appropriate.
You will use your judgement, resourcefulness and common sense and demonstrate flexibility when required.

- Current GMC Registration.

- Accredited as a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP)
